Astwood Bank Scout & Guide Group AGM 2023
Over 40 parents/carers plus young people, leaders, young leaders and committee members attended the Astwood Bank Scout and Guide Supporters’ Association AGM on 17th March 2023. Chair Ian Nelson provided an overview of the activities of the committee over the last 12 months, while Sally Payne, GSL and Fiona Baker, GirlGuiding representative provided an update about activities the young people have enjoyed. Hazel Bradley, Treasurer then shared some exciting plans to develop the Scout/Guide building and toilets. We’ll be using funds we’ve accrued through careful stewardship and Covid recovery grants we’ve been fortunate to receive over the last two years. Watch this space for more news about that in the coming months! Entertainment was provided by our young people, who also ran a chocolate tombola (very popular!) and offered refreshments to raise funds for various international adventures. Huge thanks were passed to the committee for making sure we have the space and equipment we need, to leaders/young leaders for running amazing programmes and to parents/carers for all their support.
