Scout International Adventure – Kandersteg 2024

In July 2024 I went on a trip to Kandersteg in Switzerland with Scouts. In the two years before we went on the proper trip, there were some pre-camps for everyone to go on which were very helpful as it gave us all a chance to get to know each other better and have an idea what it would be like in Kandersteg.

And then after the two years of waiting and, despite having a short delay for the ferry, we arrived in Switzerland just past midnight and then got placed into our tents. We slept until the next day where we raised the flag and took part in international games with the Scouts from the other countries. Over the next seven days we completed lots of fun activities which were: Rodelbahn (a toboggan on a track in the mountains) and hike to a beautiful lake and back, a visit to Kandersteg village and a BBQ - with lots of dancing, a visit to a Water park, a visit to a chocolate factory and a cheese factory, a visit to Interlaken - where we sat by the glacial river and cooled our feet in it and then had dinner at a restaurant, white water rafting where, luckily, we didn't get too wet! And then to end our amazing experience, a massive international bonfire with singing and dancing and lots of laughs. So to end, I would like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure and would definitely recommend it as a brilliant camp!
